normakte / Buying machinery
From 20 January 2027 the Machinery Regulation applies. Accepting a machine with an outdated declaration brings the problem into your own company. A model clause for purchase orders and a checklist for acceptance.
For every machine placed on the market from 20 January 2027, the supplier provides an EU declaration of conformity – for partly completed machinery a declaration of incorporation with assembly instructions – under Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 and, once applicable, under Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 in the same declaration. The declaration lists the standards applied with year of issue and Official Journal reference. Where the declaration or the instructions are provided digitally, the supplier keeps them available for at least ten years; the integrity of the version provided must be verifiable, for example by checksum or verification code. For machines with digital elements, the supplier states the end of the support period and a contact point for security reports.
