Create an EU declaration of conformity

One declaration for two regulations. If your product falls under several acts requiring an EU declaration of conformity, a single declaration is issued. The Machinery Regulation applies to machinery from 20 Januaryy 2027; if the machine is also a product with digital elements, the Cyber Resilience Act applies on top — with its main obligations from 11 December 2027.

Already have a declaration under the old Directive? Check first what changes.

Why only one declaration

Both regulations say the same thing, almost word for word: if the product is covered by several Union acts requiring an EU declaration of conformity, a single declaration is issued for all those acts, with the particulars of the acts concerned, including the references of their publication.

The manufacturer of a machine that is also a product with digital elements must meet the requirements of both regulations. The Cyber Resilience Act does not replace the Machinery Regulation, it is added to it.

Standards and specifications applied

Annex V Part A No 7 of the Machinery Regulation requires the references, including the date of publication in the Official Journal. Where a standard was only partly applied, state which parts.

If something changes, you'll know

For the harmonised standards of the Cyber Resilience Act no reference has yet been published in the Official Journal, the Commission has published guidance on applying the CRA; further clarification on the interplay with the Machinery Regulation may follow. Both change what belongs in your declaration.

We only write when there is something to report: harmonised standards on the CRA in the Official Journal, new Commission guidance, for example on the interplay with the Machinery Regulation, or changes to the deadlines. No advertising, unsubscribe at any time.
